Ο Simon Bisley είναι Βρετανός καλλιτέχνης comics, περισσότερο γνωστός για τη δουλειά του στα ABC Warriors, Lobo, Sláine, Heavy Metal και Hellblazer. Το ζωγραφικό -με έντονα μελάνια- σχεδιαστικό στυλ τoυ επηρεάστηκε έντονα από τον Frank Frazetta και βρήκε έμπνευση στα εξώφυλλα και τα γκράφιτι των ροκ άλμπουμ, καθώς και στην παραδοσιακή τέχνη των comics. Ο Simon δεν χρησιμοποιεί τακτικά αερογράφους, αντίθετα με τη δημοφιλή πεποίθηση, αλλά σπρέι αυτοκινήτου και διάφορα άλλα είδη σπιτιού για να πετύχει το εκπληκτικό του αποτέλεσμα.
H Jemma Press θα εκδώσει στα ελληνικά το «Σλέιν: Ο Κερασφόρος Θεός». Προϊόν της συνεργασίας του Pat Mills (σενάριο) και του Bisley (σχέδιο), πρόκειται για ένα άλμπουμ που θεωρείται μια από τις κορυφαίες ιστορίες του χαρακτήρα, αλλά και ένα δημιουργικό επίτευγμα της 9ης Tέχνης. Το υλικό για την επετειακή αυτή έκδοση για τα 35 χρόνια από την κυκλοφορία αυτής της πρωτοποριακής ιστορίας, έχει σκαναριστεί εκ νέου από τα πρωτότυπα φιλμ, προσφέροντας ένα εκπληκτικό οπτικό θέαμα της ζωγραφικής του Bisley. Ο τόμος περιέχει έξτρα υλικό, σκίτσα του Bisley, αλλά και τα εξώφυλλα της αρχικής έκδοσης. Το άλμπουμ 208 σελίδων θα κυκλοφορήσει στο Comicdom CΟΝ Athens 2025 παρουσία του θρυλικού σχεδιαστή του.

Simon Bisley is a British comic book artist best known for his work on ABC Warriors, Lobo, Sláine, Heavy Metal and Hellblazer. His style, reliant on paints… as well as inks, was strongly influenced by Frank Frazetta and took inspiration from rock album covers and graffiti as well as traditional comics art. His distinctive style is predominantly rendered using acrylics on bristol board; Simon does not regularly use airbrushes, contrary to popular belief, but he has been known to use car spray paint and various other household items to achieve his amazing result.
Jemma Press will publish “Sláine: The Horned God” in Greek. This is the result of the collaboration of Pat Mills (story) and Bisley (art), an album that is considered to be one of the character’s top stories, but also a creative achievement of the 9th Art. The pages for this anniversary edition for the 35th anniversary of the release of this groundbreaking story, has been re-scanned from the original films, offering readers a stunning visual spectacle of Bisley’s painting. This edition contains extra material, sketches by Bisley, and the covers of the original edition. The 208-page book will be released upon Comicdom CON Athens 2025 in the presence of its legendary artist.
